Marketington is the capital and most populous city of the Quentinian federal territory of JP Island. The city, which was founded in 1853 with the acquisition of the territory by the USQ, currently has a population of 295,600, making it the 66th most-populous city under the jurisdiction of the USQ. The city was founded originally by Allian colonists, who used JP Island for trade and as a port. This was so until the Brodgan Treaty of 1852, which transferred the island to the Quentinian government in exchange for exclusive economic benefits. After becoming a federal territory the year after, the island as a whole was populated by a wave of Quentinian settlers, who founded the city of Marketington. The city was named, like the island territory itself, after J.P. Marketington, a founder of the USQ who later was involved in the Founders Conflict. Despite this later trouble, however, the name still remains.

Today the city of Marketington is by far the most important city on the island in terms of population, industry, economics, tourism, and culture. Making up nearly 89% of the population of the island, Marketington's seaport and industry, including its massive legal drug industry, make up a massive percentage of the island's economy.
