Oceanic Body Sports at the Sidus Dei Ludos is one of the major competitions at the Summer Sidus Dei Ludos games. The event is one of the more recent to be introduced, with competition beginning in 1996 at the 41st summer games in Comdantri. The competition was proposed by the Quentinian-Ravensonian Oceanic Body Sports Association, with assistance from the two nations' SDL committees, in 1994. Though the sport is one of the least widely played in the world, the fact that it is highly popular in the USQ and Ravensonia, along with the fact that it is a very "inherently summer sport," allowed it to be accepted by the Sidus Dei Ludos Administrative Committee for the 1996 games.

Obs (as oceanic body sports is often called) is divided into men's and women's competitions, with only one tournament of play in each division. This is unlike other events, such as diving, where there are multiple sub-events for which a team can medal. Diving is regulated and supervised both internationally and at the SDL by FIOBS. Currently, the United States of Quentin is the most successful nation at the event, having topped the medal table in every competition but one.
