The Quentinian Embassy in the Azurian Isles is the official Quentinian embassy of the Azurian Isles. It is one of the smaller Quentinian embassies in the world, as well as one of the more recent built by the United States of Quentin. The building where the embassy is located, the Coastal Azurian Embassy Suites, was built in 2007, to house numerous international embassies, mainly ones from the Asperian Trade and Defense Organization, and the embassy moved in immediately, as well as is located at 777 Asperian Street. Since the building is shared by 3 countries, the Quentinian Flag is flown alongside the others, however was raised ceremoniously, before any of the others, on January 1st, 2007. The current Head Quentinian Diplomat at the site is Mehal Bhattacharya.

History

Creation

The embassy was first planned for by GTNEC of the USQ Janice Zarli. Zarli wanted to establish diplomatic relations with the Azurian Isles, and brought up a bill in the Asperian Trade and Defense Organization General Assembly to establish a joint embassy in the nation, as the House of Bureaucrats wouldn't approve a Quentinian-only embassy. The bill was passed, with building funded by the ATADO and two other countries, the Protectorates of Allia and Xevenia, signing on to the joint embassy. The site for construction was chosen by the shores in the capital, Atlantea, and the street was renamed Asperian Street. As adhering to Quentinian law, the building had to be constructed by a Quentinian company, so after deliberations, Kumar Industries was chosen to build the building. Construction was started in August of 2004, and was finished in January of 2007. The 3 countries moved in that same month, with a combined staff of 9,800.

Diplomatic Structure

The embassy in the Azurian Isles follows the Quentinian Diplomatic Procedure, like other embassies, which lays out the offices, officers, and responsibilities of them. The Head Quentinian Diplomat to the Azurian Isles, who supervises the offices and has the most power over the embassy, is currently Mehal Bhattacharya. There are four main offices at the embassy, with an array of employees assigned to each, which are listed below. These officials are appointed by the Head Diplomat as well.

Offices

-Quentinian Diplomatic Office of Governmental Relations: This office directs messages, policy changes, requests, and other things from the Quentinian government to the Azurian government. This includes requests for visits from the President of the USQ or other officials, a request to remove troops from somewhere, expressing indignation at a recent policy change or military move, etc. This office is one where the Head Diplomat works most often, communicating with the Azurian legislature and officials. The current Governmental Relations Officer at the embassy is Neeha Raixolopen, who was appointed by Head Bhattacharya in 2007.

-Quentinian Office of Citizenship and Immigration Protections: This office has the responsibility of protecting and ensuring certain rights to citizens of the USQ living, working, or immigrating to the Azurian Isles, including the right to free speech, the right to sanctuary inside the embassy, and others. The current Citizenship and Immigration Protections Officer at the embassy is currently Quentin Chau, who was appointed in 2011.

-Quentinian Diplomatic Office of Events and Visitation: This office handles arrangements, security, and locations of events, such as international sporting events, parades, etc, and visitation of government officials or celebrities. Unlike the Office of Government Relations, which merely sends requests for official government visitation, the Events and Visitation Office plans routes for parades, communicates with local police and other Azurian services to protect the celebrities or stadiums, and arranges locations for the events to take place. The Diplomatic Quentinian Events and Visitation Officers at the embassy is currently Jacqueline Kindy.

-Quentinian Diplomatic Office of Commerce and Economic Cooperation: The Office of Commerce and Economic Cooperation deals with trade and commerce coming into the Azurian Isles from the USQ. It communicates tariffs and other expenses, as well as deals with restrictions on trade goods or different embargoes. The Commerce and Economic Cooperation Officer in the embassy is currently Adriano Maliackel.
