Shared Waters Pact

The Shared Waters Pact, also unofficially known as the Defense Pact Against Paladinia, is a multilateral defense alliance comprising the Democratic-Republic of Lindsaya, New Dawn, Ravensonia, and the United States of Quentin. All of these nations, except for New Dawn (though Lindsaya and New Dawn cooperate closely), border the Sea of Stratigeo, and the pact was signed in 1998 to defend the region against threats from shared hostile nations, mainly Paladinia and the United Villages of Southia. The Shared Waters Pact is also an integral document when determining worldwide maritime boundaries, as the document agrees that the Sea of Stratigeo further than 50 nautical miles from a nation's shore, is part of international waters, and that natural resources are neutral and only the Venturian Union's laws apply. This differs from other boundaries, which establish that a nation's maritime borders extend 100 nautical miles from its shores, and the rest are international waters.

The pact, among other things, resolves to work together to fight terrorists and pirates in the Sea, as well as to protect against aggression from Paladinia or the United Villages of Southia,
