The National Institute of Public Statistics (NIPUS) is an independent agency of the United States of Quentin federal government, created in 1911 by Congress to better organize the federal census. NIPUS absorbed the now-defunct Quentinian Census Bureau in 1911, and since then has also established the Office on Demographic Statistics, the Office on Political Statistics, and the Office on Living Statistics. The statistics are given to members of the federal government, including the Cupboard, President and Congress, and also are published to the public. The census has a large role in determining the political makeup of the country, and thus NIPUS was established as an independent agency, with Congress hoping to keep NIPUS out of the sphere of political influence. Funds for NIPUS come from the nation's budget, and it is headed by Commissioner Paul Abrien.
