The Quentinian Raven Islands, also known as the Ravenian Islands, and officially known as the United States of Quentin Federal Territory of the Raven Islands is a group of islands located in the northern portion of the Sea of Stratigeo, and is a federal territory of the United States of Quentin. Geographically the islands are situated in between Ravensonia and the USQ in the Sea of Stratigeo, and are close neighbors with the Ravensonian Raven Islands, themselves a federal territory of Ravensonia.
Like all other territories of the USQ, the Raven Islands has territorial towns, cities recognized by the federal government that are allowed representatives in the territorial government, and are the focus of most funding to the territory. In the case of the Raven Islands, each island is given one territorial town, with Ravenian Island having the capital, Raven City, Independence Island having Port Independence, Flakkoe Island having Flakoselite, and Paul Leidigh Island having Leidighsville.
The Raven Islands were acquired by the USQ from Ravensonia in 1963 in the Treaty of the Democracies, which came only 14 years after Ravensonia had declared their independence from the Northern Patrons of Ice. The newly formed nation badly needed cash, and soon sold the Raven Islands to the USQ, who had also assisted them in gaining independence earlier, for a large sum in gold. After the Raven Islands were admitted as a territory in 1963, the Territorial Constitution of the Quentinian Raven Islands was written and ratified by the First Quentinian Raven Islands Territorial Assembly in 1964, and then Congress ratified the Constitution in early 1965. Today the islands are focused on recreational activities, taking advantage of the fact that Ravensonia and the USQ together participate in many athletic events, also taking advantage of the fact that, as a territory, drug laws do not apply.
