Housefires (Lilian Beck) is a fictional superhero appearing in numerous QUACK! Comics comic book series, as well as numerous other media including the 2021 film of the same name. Created in 1949 by Elizabeth Mochrey, Housefires is one of only two cinematic, top tier QUACK! heroes to be female, though many lower tier heroes and allies of the main heroes are female. Housefires was first depicted in Crimes Against Fun #3, and has the alter-ego of Lilian Beck, a gymnast who is a former police officer and soldier. Housefires is often depicted in the Knights of Life superhero group as a stabilizing force, attempting to be a mediator and leader of the group when conflicts between heroes such as Good Hope and Noir arise.

Notable for her fire powers, super speed, eyesight, and levitation, Lilian Beck first adopts the name Housefires after she responds to a fire in her hometown of Liberation City, DA, and after being engulfed by the flames, gains powers. These powers come as the result of a gene she possesses which turns the fire inwards, and allows her to control it. After realizing she has numerous newfound abilities, including super speed and eyesight from when the rare gene was activated, Housefires promptly rejects her newfound abilities, attempting to contain them and to live a normal life. However, after Liberation City is destroyed by Tornado Man, Beck realizes she has a duty to her city and country to use her powers for good. Defeating Tornado Man in a major battle, Beck adopts the name Housefires, paying homage to the source of her powers. After, she begins to fight crime in Liberation City, the USQ, and around the world. In the 1970's fictional time, Beck joins the Knights of Life superhero group to help contain crime, and also cooperates frequently with ICEC and numerous other heroes.

Housefires has a large assortment of villains and enemies. Her first major enemy was Tornado Man, who has tornado powers and the ability to cause major storms as well. Tornado Man is often depicted fighting Housefires in Liberation City, as Tornado Man hates the city and its reputation as a modern wonder. Additionally, Housefires fights Madame Weber, who is a genius supervillain committed to taking down Housefires for being heretical to Christianity. Palace of Malice is a villain from Minersville with super strength, as well as a humorous attitude. Finally, Housefires fights Aquakinesis, a villain with water powers living off the coast of the Kumar Area. In contrast to these major villains, Housefires also has a large gathering of allies who support her. Stargirl (Jessie Janet) is her main ally, a 15 year old girl who was caught in a house fire in Bourensfort, GA. After doctors discovered she has the same rare gene as Housefires, Beck took Stargirl on as her sidekick and apprentice, training her to use her powers and do good.
