King Hell (Arthur Hades) is a fictional superhero appearing in the Federation Comics Universe, based in the Republic of Megatridimensional Order. The character is a supervillain, and his sole goal is worldwide anarchy and chaos. He is the nemesis of The Admiral. His pursuit of chaos is so complete, that he has, on occasion, turned on his fellow supervillians once victory was all but assured. While such actions are better suited to a loner, Hades formidable powers and manipulative skills turn hesitant or hostile villains (and sometimes superheroes) into allies, even if only temporarily. He has black hair, pale skin and typically wears a bulletproof black trenchcoat, fedora and black gloves heavily lined with lead, with the left glove having no fingers. Believed to be a former government agent, Hades has a wide network of contacts throughout the world, which he frequently taps to overthrow governments, assassinate world leaders and begin or extend wars.

Origin

Believed to be born in 1973 somewhere in Mortification, Hades was naturalized as a Republic of Megatridimensional Order citizen and graduated with dual majors of History and Psychology from Tabula Rasa University. A closet nihilist, Hades subdued his world view in order to obtain a job offer with the government and quickly rose to the office of Minister of Psychology. As Minister, he became adept at destabilizing foreign powers and sowing discord among enemies both foreign and domestic. He also oversaw several secret projects, including the Nirvana Project, which was an attempt to increase the potency of nuclear weapons using Isotope-67. Refusing orders from the Prime Minister to short circuit a likely war, he narrowly avoided an assassination attempt by the Order, who believed he was too dangerous to be left alive. Later, he stole Isotope-67, but accidentally crushed the vial, destroying it in the process and burning the flesh from his hands. He learned shortly after that the Isotope caused anything he touched with his fingers (or more accurately, the bones of his fingers) became poisoned with massive radioactivity. He began wearing gloves, but cut the fingers off of the left hand glove so that his fingers would be exposed, allowing him to easily use his power. A side effect is that Hades gives off low-level radiation that is relatively harmless in low doses. Long term exposure, however, can be fatal. Hades fled to Mortification shortly after his theft, to care for his mother, bedridden by the flu. While she recovered, Hades' prolonged presence caused his mother to quickly develop cancer and die, spiraling him further into nihilism and insanity.

Powers

Hades can kill people instantly with a single touch, transmitting lethal amounts of radiation through his hands. Though he wears gloves heavily lined with lead, his touch can still transmit enough radiation for the target to develop cancerous tumors and die a slow painful death. Hades also is a master manipulator. He is so skilled that it is sometimes theorized (incorrectly) that Hades has mind control powers.
