Maybusik Prawther
Maybusik "May" Prawther was the 22nd Prime Minister of the Republic of Megatridimensional Order, and the second son of the 16th Prime Minister, Gennesec Prawther, and member of the Rationalist Party. Elected in 1915, Prawther's 1st term as Prime Minister was most notable for the unparalleled prosperity and wealth for citizens of the Order. Having been raised in a political environment his entire life, Prawther openly despised politics but felt he was uniquely qualified and had a duty to serve. As the 1920 election campaign began, on April 17, 1920, Prawther announced that he would not seek a second term. The announcement was very unpopular. As news (and rumors) spread out of control, riots eventually broke out in most of the major cities. In spite of appeals made by Prawther himself, the riots did not end. Finally, Jym Monohall, the Rationalist Party (and several from the URDF party) convinced Prawther to run in order to stop the riots, which were becoming dangerous. Prawther announced he would run again, and all riots disbanded in less than 2 days. However, Prawther ran no campaign and made no public appearances, giving only one interview on December 2, 1920, where he laid out the reasons he should not be re-elected and why either of his opponents would be a much better choice. On December 10, he was re-elected in one of the most lopsided victories in the history of the Order. He was sworn in for a second term on January 1, 1921. When the ceremony was completed, he shook hands with Monohall, who was presiding, and said to the crowd,"As my first official act, I hereby pardon myself," and fatally shot himself in the face with a handgun.
He was laid to rest in Military Cemetery on January 3, 1921.
