Fort McCarthy, officially known as the Municipality of Fort McCarthy to avoid official confusion with the fort of the same name, is a major city in the Quentinian Grassland Area, located adjacent to the Logan River. With a population of 3.98 million in its urban area, the city is the second-largest in the state as well as the 10th-largest in the country. Famed for its large military installation located in the center of the city, Fort McCarthy has been the center of defense for the USQ since its inception in the 1830's, however is also home to a large and diverse urban economy.

Fort McCarthy was founded in 1806.
