The Minersville Miners are a professional Roofball team that plays in The Quentinian Roofball Organization. In that league, they play in The Eastern Roofball Conference, in The ERC Southwest along with The Mechanicsburg Businessmen and The Baltimore Lightning. They have won The QRO Champions Cup the most out of any team in the league, 8 times, once in 1970, 1976, 1977, 1980, 1984, 1985, 1998, and one in 2009. They play in the city of Minersville, at Righthole Ditch Field, the oldest stadium in the league, and their current coach is Steve Miner, and their owner is Ryan Jameson.

History

The Miners, although not in one of the bigger cities, were one of the first four teams in the league, coming in in 1939 playing games even before the league was founded against The Jameisville Stingers, (Today The Boston Privateers) The Rodriguezville Rage (The Kumar City Shock), and The Mechanicsburg Elite (The Mechanicsburg Businessmen). When the league was founded, many of those teams chose to move to larger markets, however the Miners stayed in Minersville, leading to arguably the most rambunctious, loyal, and dedicated fan-base in the league. In the early years this loyalty was tested, however, as the Miners lost numerous games, and only made The Tournament 3 times over the course of 18 seasons.

As the '70s began, however, the team started to get good, supported by their experience playing and their coaching staff, led by Reed Glenside
