Procantinac

Procantinac is the capital city of The Protectorates of Allia. Founded in 500 B.C., it is one of the oldest cities still standing in the world, and is also one of the largest. Home to over 15 million people, it is the epicenter of most everything in Allia, and is very historic. The name Procantinac's origin has been debated over the years, however it is generally believed to come from the English word "protect", and the Stevian words om, which morphed into an, meaning home, and tinac, meaning many.

History

In 500 B.C., or somewhere around that date, the city was founded by a group of people who had been living in the area for a time, and tried to organize better with each other, and the land, trying to avoid conflict. Throughout the years, the city thrived, and became the largest of such cities in the area. In 410 B.C., William Proncanshion I was born in the city, and he came to power there. The government ran off of a somewhat democratic government, but soon William became so popular with the people that he became extremely powerful, allowed to make whatever decisions he wanted. During the Allian Conquests from 390 B.C. to 300 B.C. Procantinac thrived like never before, having tons of riches from foreign lands poured into their markets, and was the center of all operations, business, and politics throughout all the lands it now ruled, and was the capital of The Allian Empire.

In the period between the conquests and the eventual downfall of the empire, the city still continued to thrive, and grow. It developed a rich literature, government, and culture, and many present day governments have been observed by many to be combinations of the Allian government structure and the Stevian government structure. Success like this comes with many downfalls, however, and while the city in general was thriving in the period, there was still a large amount of sectors and citizens that lived in poverty. Finally, in 1100 A.D., the empire had outstretched itself, and, having problems with rebellious citizens, trade market, and the wide task of managing so much land, the empire was dissolved into separate countries, with Procantinac being a part of The Protectorates of Allia that formed after the dissolution.

From 1100 to 1500, Procantinac was centered around an ever growing religious movement in Venturia. In the times of the empire, Christianity was founded, and had taken a strong hold on the country. Now, in the period between 1100 and 1500, it was represented in the culture, with many glorious churches being constructed, political leaders making decisions based off the Bible and the religion, and wars being waged because of it. The Belief Clash took place from the late 1300's to the early 1400's. Procantinac was a large part of that, being one of the main training centers for new soldiers, and providing funds for the armies of the East to continuously attack the West. Procantinac also played the important part of hosting the Bifaith Summit between the countries of the far West, and Skethianity, and their own Eastern countries. The Summit was where an important understanding was reached between the two faiths, and all hostilities were ceased between the two. Today the two religions are much more tolerant of each other than Hatvists, and the summit played a crucial part in that.

In the period between 1600 and 1800, Allia once more took on an important role as being a worldwide leader, in economics, politics, and religion. Procantinac was once again at the center of it, and kept growing, determined to be the largest, most important city in the world. During this time a number of world explorers, many of them from Procantinac, took to exploring the world's limits, including Franklin Stevenson, Bejunak Dloklexs, and William Barbilnog. Allia did not extend their borders like in past times, but kept to inviting in foreign lands, exchanging goods and cultures, and extending their trade influence around the world. This is also how Procantinac grew so rapidly, because of all the foreign immigrants they took in during those times. When 1800 came around, Allia found itself with a new foe, the Republic of Megatridimensional Order. They were a young, fledgling country, but with the MTO on the rise, they were suddenly challenged, and went to war for the first time in 300 years, in 1823.
